CAMPING FEES: NEW IN 2012

Camping fees have not been adjusted for several years. 
The Board of Directors looked at fees at other campgrounds, at other fairs and considered the current cost of electricity and grounds maintenance. The following adjustments have been made in camping fees for 2012.

 

$50.00 Primitive ~ $125.00 w/Electricity (30 amp maximum) ~  Group lots will be available in the primitive area only.

                       

The “Lease A Lot” option will be available in 2012 for an additional $500.00. 

This guarantees an electrical site for three years. Call the Fair Office for details.

 

NO PASSES WILL BE GIVEN WITH CAMPING REGISTRATIONS

Camping applications will be available June 2, 2012.
Please read the regulations below

 

 

1. One application only (and lottery number) will be given out per campsite – choose ONE camper (must be18 years old or older) from your group to hold your number.  A deposit of $125.00 will be required to get an application, and that deposit is non-refundable if your number is drawn while electrical spots are available and you choose not to take a lot.

 

2. Campers who prefer a primitive site will make a deposit of $50.00 upon receiving their application and will be eligible for a primitive site only.

 

3. Campers who do not get an electrical site and wish to remain eligible for one, should it become available, will be required to leave their deposit until a site is available (or not, at which time the deposit will be refunded).

 

4.  Animal exhibitor’s (except those exhibitors showing dogs, as dogs do not stay on the grounds overnight) lottery numbers will be drawn first. The lot must be registered in the name of the parent or legal guardian of an animal exhibitor.  When all of those numbers have been drawn will be opened up to leaders, advisors and other exhibitors.

    

5.  One registration per lot, per family.  Camping space must be occupied by the person to whom the lot is registered. *NOTE - 2007: LOTS MAY NOT BE SOLD. Turn lot # in at the office prior to Fri. Aug. 3rd if you are unable to occupy it; there is a waiting list for available lots.

                                             

6.  Your permit must be clearly displayed on the road side of your camper.

 

7. There will be no early or late check-in without prior approval of the camping committee.

Each unit must check in at the CAMPING CHECK-IN POINT (near Lot 1, on West Drive).  (Sunday, each unit must check in at the OFFICE.)  Campers will be allowed to place their units starting on the Friday prior to the fair at 4:00 pm.  Check in times are as follows:

Friday (before Fair): 4:00pm to 8:00pm             

Saturday: 9:00am to 8:00pm                            

Sunday (check-in at office) Please call in advance with arrival time.

Note: Unit must be in by Sunday at 8:00pm; after 8:00pm space will be given to the next applicant.     

 

NO REFUNDS GIVEN.

 

8.  Each campsite is required to have a responsible adult [21 years or older], staying with the group each night.  All names of the camping party must be listed on the application.  Emergency contact person(s) and number(s) must also be listed. 

A. Complaints:

1. First complaint will be taken to the responsible adult

2. Second complaint: camping unit and campers removed - there will be no refund.

 

9.  NO MORE THAN 1 CAMPING UNIT PER LOT (tents, screen units, or any other additional items may not be added without permission of the camping committee).  CAMPING UNITS MUST STAY WITHIN THE CONFINES OF THE LOT (slide-outs must not extend beyond the lot line).

 

10. All hitches must be readily accessible (for emergency hookup).

 

11.  Livestock trailers with camping units must be cleaned and approved by the camping committee before being placed on lot.

 

12.  Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am.  Generators may not be run during quiet hours.

 

13.  NOTHING may be placed between your electrical connection box and the fence.  This must be maintained as a Fire/Inspection lane.

 

14. NO PETS ALLOWED  (with the exception of dogs being exhibited at the fair)

First complaint will be referred to the camper.

Second complaint will result in pet being removed from the Fairgrounds camping area.    

Manure must be picked up immediately and properly disposed of.

Pet must be inside camper, restrained on own lot, or leashed.

 

15. Notify office for concerns/problems.

 

16. No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs will be allowed.  Violators will be removed and prosecuted.

 

17. No bicycles, scooters or similar conveyances will be allowed.

Golf carts and ATV's must be preapproved by the Board of Directors, Registered in the office and have proof of insurance.
This includes the use of golf carts for disabled exhibitors or visitors.  Anyone wishing to use a golf cart must have liability insurance and must apply in the Fair Office, no later than July 15th(please), to allow time for the application to be reviewed, returned, and for your cart to be licensed. All carts on the grounds must be insured and licensed through the Fair Office.

 

18Campfires are not allowed.

 

19. No digging on fair grounds due to buried utilities.  Stakes should not be pounded into the ground 3’ either side of the power and water lines which run between the electrical pedestals on each campsite.

 

20. By order of the Health Department, water hoses may be connected only long enough to fill holding tanks; they must be disconnected at all other times.

 

21. THERE IS TO BE ABSOLUTELY NO DISCHARGE OF WATER OR WASTE ON THE GROUND, by order of the Health Department and the Agricultural Society.  Any camper who disregards this rule will be required to clean up the discharge, will be subject to a $100.00 fine, and will be removed from the fair grounds.

 

22. There is a DUMP STATION on the grounds, available from  6:30 am to 11:30 am only, located south of the VFW PAVILION.  Convenience pumping is available twice during the week (sign up at the fair office on Saturday or Sunday).

 

23. Any camper, or member of a camping group, who violates any rule or regulation will have their camping permits revoked.  They will be required to remove their camper from the grounds immediately, or it will be removed at the owner's expense.  Camping fees will be forfeited and camping parties will not be allowed back without approval from the camping committee.  The camping area will be patrolled.

 

24. All Porta-johns must be located 50’ or more from any campsite, by order of the MI Dept. of Health.

       

 

FIRE AND SAFETY PROTECTION RULES WILL BE ENFORCED.
