Swine (Breeding Stock) has been eliminated from the Shiawassee County Fair as of 2010. The Board of Directors, in response to concern for the health of the swine herds in Shiawassee County, voted in November of 2007 to take this action. They further acted at that time to make the market show and sale a terminal market, that is, all hogs exhibited must be sold, and all of the animals sold must be trucked directly from the Fairgrounds to processing plants.
Poultry, Rabbits and Cavies Everyone, adults and youth, must submit a cage count or a cage will not be available for your animal. Submit a separate sheet for each species (i.e.: one for rabbits, one for poultry) Clubs may be sent together, but send a sheet for each child so that it is clear what each exhibitor needs. Independent exhibitors should send the cage count with their entries. Cage counts must be in the Fair Office by July 6th. This page can be copied, you may get it in the Fair Office. You will not receive it in the mail or get any further notification.

All animals (Beef, Sheep, Swine Goats, Rabbits) entered in Homegrown, Homebred, from own herd or flock classes must have verification from their club leader that the animal does in fact meet the requirements stated in the Homebred/Homegrown definition. This can be sent (leader signature must be present) with individual entries or club leaders can list all club members that are known to meet the requirements. This verification must be in the Fair Office by July 19th for the exhibitor to show in a Homegrown/Homebred class. You may copy this form, obtain a copy from the Fair Office or find it at: www.shiawasseecountyfair.com It will not be sent and you will receive no further notification.
(*Please note: this does not enter you in the class. You must enter the appropriate class in each department.).
